What this means for a Idaho counselor

Because Idaho is not a member, a Idaho license cannot anchor a compact privilege, and a counselor licensed in a live state cannot use a privilege to treat Idaho clients, including by telehealth. Practicing across the Idaho line in either direction still runs on licensure by endorsement with the receiving board.

Idaho has seen compact bills before (linked above) that did not become law, and the Commission lists no active bill. Any change would start with a new bill in the Idaho legislature.

Every license a Idaho counselor holds keeps its own CE cycle. The Idaho rule is on the Idaho counselor CE page, and the compact vs endorsement comparison covers the alternatives.
